We are British/Canadian artist filmmakers working in film, installation, and performance. We are currently resident artists at Crescent Arts in Scarborough. Our work often reveals the story of its own making in which coincidence and fiction play a significant role. In the acting out of various situations we investigate the problem of representation, of perception and the boundaries between self and other. ‘Webb-Ellis are amongst the most exciting young artists and film-makers I have encountered in the last few years. They are notable for their blurring of the boundaries between life and work, their creative self-sufficiency- allied with a profound and committed curiosity – and their ambitious, sensitive, engaged and beautifully realised pieces, working across media to create a new hybrid space for both maker and audience.’ Gareth Evans, Film Curator, Whitechapel Gallery Crescent Arts, Scarborough
