Sarah Hoskins graduated from Wimbledon School of Art in 1996, and completed a postgraduate diploma at the Cyprus College of Art in 2002.
“When working, I search for that moment when the painting transcends its materials, becoming more than the sum of its parts, like casting a spell.
Last year, perhaps as a reaction to the strangeness of our current situation, my work changed. In a moment of fearlessness, a large comical nose appeared, and then an eye. My abstract paintings were now also absurd grotesques. They made me laugh.”
