Edinburgh based photographer Ines Gennuso looks at theatre sets as psychological spaces, where artificial light with its reverberating hues creates surreal–like scenes, transforming the ordinary into something bold and dramatic. By photographing theatre sets without any human presence the photographer intends to explore the uncanny quality of the inanimate object bathed by artificial light, so to address a poetic of estrangement, where the familiar is mage strange, perceptible, as if never encountered before.The series "Theatre Sets" has also been exhibited at the Singapore International Photography Festival in October 2008.
