Standing Stones: The first major solo show from Glasgow based artist Victoria Evans is an ambitious installation of new large scale oil paintings, arranged in the manner of stelae, or standing stones, in The Briggait’s stunning 1873 Hall. Taking a process-led approach, with representation of the human face as its starting point, the work reflects – via varying degrees of abstraction – themes of impermanence, mortality and ritual art.
