About the Yum Yum Drawings (the A5 project) Art Exhibition 2017

The idea of the project initiated on the evening of the first of January 2016 when Hayat and myself came back from a visit to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland. Living alone with my daughter then aged 7 I felt time is passing in a glimpse and it will be difficult to remember many childhood moments that are so precious for me as a parent and for her as a child. I felt I want to do something that can maybe preserve some of the amazing experiences I pass by as a mother seeing a child blossoming, to hold in some ways the energy, the freshness, the joy, the creativity and the craziness.

Words are endless and drawings could be limitless. As a mother I learned a lot from the journey of the (A5 project). A5 was chosen for we wanted something simple. A4 papers are available everywhere and can make 2 A5 papers. . So wherever we are we could get an A4 paper and cut it in half: one for me and one for her.

When the project was created the idea was to create a big book that binds the drawing one to one on a daily basis but as time passed I thought doing an exhibition could be a great way to show all the drawings together and share them with others.

I believe this show is a proof of the artist in every child. As Picasso said “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up”.

Please accept my invitation now to take part in this experience. Take a A5 paper and draw. Are you a child, are you an Adult? It is not important. I invite you to take action now. Make an A5 drawing and let it be part of our Show. Who know you might have a surprise on Sunday 30 April but most important is that you are recording a moment in your life.
