This was an exhibition of living folk culture sponsored by a major photographic company. The Miao people (a Chinese ethnic minority) were busy doing their craftwork while the visitors could watch and take pictures in the exhibition hall. There were even cameras bolted to the floor so that the visitor could try out the camera and see how photogenic these people were.
