Once the wax is burnt out, a crucible filled with choice metal is attached skilfully, left to dry until we are ready to cast. In this photograph, we are preparing to fire the castings. There must be a clear distinction between the cavity containing the void and the crucible containing the metal. Failure to do this will prevent successful casting as the metal will not flow into the void when turned upside down.
