Originally from Southern of Italy, Angelo Madonna is a multidisciplinary artist and teacher based in Liverpool. He was formally trained in nautical science and mechanical engineering, followed by an education in fine art, sculpture and new media. For the last fifteen years his approach to art making has included: sculpture, sound and video installation, site-specific interventions, performances, and Arduino technology. He likes to call his work an on-going research on visual, sound and material where the main objective is to explore affective potentialities emerging from the relation between materials and matter, object and humans. His work has been presented in various site-specific venues and institutions in London, Liverpool and Italy and he has collaborated with several artists including: Nicola Rae; actress Alakananda Samath; poet/writer/entrepreneur David Ellis; artist/poet/writer John Elcock; performer/writer Silvia Battista, and at present artist and film-maker Paddy Rogers.
