Billy Hawes is a contemporary fine artist and curator living and working in Northamptonshire, UK. His practice focuses on a set of core questions about the relationships between artist, artwork and audience, and how small changes can affect the function of these relationships. Studio-based outcomes of this practice based research often take the form of large-scale sculptural structures that require the audience to navigate their way around the work and the space in which it is installed. On the other hand, exhibition-based outcomes often attempt to challenge curatorial conventions and given behaviours of the visitors in order to test relationships further.
