I am an embroidery artist (designer, maker…) exploring texture, scale and negative space within my current work. My methodology has become inseparable from my practice, driving it forward and continually inspiring the use of new mediums and processes. The notion of ‘Heterotopia’* has been the ultimate and crucial starting point of a more conceptual approach to my work, intrinsically linked to both my ongoing research and current political issues, yet I am still consumed by aesthetic qualities. My passion is for sensitive, abstracted or layered imagery; collage, photography and print in soft ambient colour-ways and stitching is in my soul. Teesside
