Jenny Steele’s practice reflects on 20th Century architecture and interiors through drawing, sculpture and printmaking. Her most recent work responds to 1930s modernist seafront architecture in the North of England and Scotland, drawing from its utopian formalism and idealism. Steele has exhibited widely in the UK and abroad. Residencies include Manchester School of Art (2012) and 501 Artspace, Chongqing, China (2011). In 2016, she presented new work in solo exhibitions at The Grundy Art Gallery, Blackpool and InCertainPlaces, Preston. Shortlisted for the Jerwood Drawing Prize 2012, Steele is a Goldsmiths MFA (2007) and Duncan of Jordanstone (2002) graduate. Manchester
