Oliver Smith

  My passion for installation art crosses over into a greater interest in moving image and pictures, the poetics of which are brought together in a space that creates an almost theatrical proscenium; visitor interaction, facilitating a flux between stage and non-stage. Dealing with conflicting desires and fears I'm interested in developing stages of awareness, reflecting contemporary society and beginning. I am interested in ethics and psychology surrounding the subject of 'social deviance' and how we judge, define or understand others; which may ultimately lead to better understanding of our own identity.
