Coasts are where two substances collide, the fluidity of water and the seeming solidity of the land. The geological skeleton of the land is under perpetual attack by erosive waters. The extreme pressures and temperatures that created our geological world are defeated by water alone; this affirms my own human fragility creating a deep respect for nature. Beaches are saturated in destruction, but the beauty lies in the relentless ability to recreate; rocks a million years old are reduced to sand, alluvial fans are in constant flux and salt crystals grow and dissolve repeatedly.
