Thoughtful analysis of what was a new funding initiative from ACE, which ran for ten rounds. It was designed to help young artists and designers to develop  international careers by making grants of up to £5000 to individuals. Interesting to note that only 20% of applications were successful and 52% of applications came from London-based artists. 44% of awards were made to visual arts projects. Artists were very positive about the impact of a grant on their practice as well as the relative speed and simplicity of the application process. 76% reported gaining an international opportunity as a result. 93% felt it provided lasting career benefits.
