Argues that in ACE’s re-distribution of its funding in 2011, a disproportionate number of artists’ membership, practice-based and development agencies lost core funding, so weakening the visual arts infrastructure in this area. Identifies the issues using several case studies and makes recommendations for how work of this nature can be sustained as part of a strengthened and balanced arts ecology.
