Review of research into the social impact of museums, libraries and archives showing three major weaknesses in the 2005 evidence base: 1) A lack of any substantial longitudinal, comparative data on social impact. 2) Absence of an agreed model for describing social impact. 3) Comparative lack of research into social impact related to cultural diversity and health/mental health. The report makes recommendations to address these findings.
