A CRB… that’s what I forgot to mention. LDT had sorted one out for me and it came in the post yesterday.

Now I can finally run some workshops without having a minder!

Getting paid obviously takes priority over anything else, so I’ve been taking as much of the recently acquired overtime in my ‘other job’ as I could.

Frustrating as it is to have to work extra hours in order to get anything like a ‘normal’ pay, I’ve just been stunned watching someone pay out over £400 in the Tate shop for Magritte goodies.

Oh to have money to burn like that!

In the meantime, when I’ve finished here today, I’ll need to get something together for tomorrow’s stint at the centre. … work there on my only day off.. and then get back to the day job : /

Studio space.

Yesterday, I posted a call out for artists to use the empty studio space ( for Free!) at LDT.

They have given me a few rooms to use as studio space, but because of my job, I can only be there one or two days a week, so the space is laying empty.

As one of the rooms is fairly large ( and has a sink!) I thought I’d offer the space out.

The building has plenty of parking space, is on the main bus route and is about 10 minutes walk from Leasowe station.

Still waiting to hear if anyone will move in…

Getting publicity for an art project sometimes seems like a continuous slog. Although I’ve been very lucky in getting two local papers interested, it will take a lot more to get people down to a vastly underused Community Centre.

I did mention last week that the LDT website doesn’t have an address or ‘how to get there’ details on, but I suppose they feel there’s no need for change with the building having been there over ten years now.

Having said that – it’s just 15mins on the motorway run from my house and I didn’t know about it : /

This last week, I’ve mentioned the residency on this blog, facebook, LinkedIn and a little on Twitter (which I’m still trying to get my head around) but I have noticed that my website: www.wendycwilliams.co.uk has had a lot more hits recently.

This is great for me obviously – but the ultimate aim to get people over to Leasowe to start working on AND enjoying, art projects.

I’ve had a nice weekend off, but this afternoon I think I’d better start working on it again.
