MAXIMISING THE MA SHOW – worth reading.

In 2007 Axis formed a collaboration with the University of the Arts London (UAL) to contribute to a research project, ‘Maximising the MA Show’, examining how effective MA shows currently are at catering for, in particular, a professional arts audience. UAL researcher Paul Glinkowski (who is also an Axis MAstars ‘selector‘) conducted this research which focused on the general visitor experience and standards of presentation. As part of a larger programme of research, Paul surveyed the experiences of our own team of selectors who visit the MA shows each year.

The ‘Maximising the MA Show’ research report includes ‘good practice’ recommendations which suggest how MA shows might be staged and managed more effectively in the future, to the benefit of students, staff, and the host art colleges, as well as to the people who attend the shows. The Executive Summary of the findings of the Axis MAstars section of the report can be viewed in the PDF document below. The full report can be viewed on the University of the Arts website.
