The first image posted, is a sketch made as I begin to start the ‘making process’. Before this point, I have been researching and trying to clarify, the direction I want to pursue. With the wealth of references and resources available, this narrowing down process has been difficult.
I have however, now decided on two key areas of research:
1. Contemporary Science – The Higgs Boson
2. The ‘hidden science’ contained within the landscape paintings of Joseph Wright of Derby
Both of these areas have at their core an underlying interest in exploring still further the idea of order and chaos.
This is something I will aim to articulate further (and hopefully far more eloquently) in a text that will accompany the exhibition.
