I’ve started making experimental pieces with dead foliage, continuing my interest in beauty, often missed that is all around us. And what I find fascinating is how easy you can fall into the trap of the ‘known’ even return to a former way of working that is redundant? So seeing that some of my initial thoughts were better than the piece I was working on- I took a step back and almost started anew-and felt much better…

Also going to contribute to a show in Farnham Library Gardens ‘Perspective’ with a group of student artists from Farnham Art College

Though I haven’t much time to prepare I feel its a great opportunity to follow on from my tiny steps in setting work up outside. Its a great space with some really interesting trees

Later I have the difficulty of dividing my time between selecting components for garden artworks and working on the dead foliage project-though perhaps its all one and the same- just me imagining they are different activities when its all just un spoken thoughts…
