Are Reels useful for an artist exposure?
I have recently used Reels on Instagram more than regular to analyse the amount of new following it could provide and compared it to the other art accounts + how it works in their regard.

In one of the latest posts I shared on my platform, I tried to focus on what was popular at that moment, music-wise. Why? Because songs that are popular at the moment will more likely end up on more people’s algorithms.

(post found at https://www.plannthat.com/get-more-views-on-reels/)
The song that I used was Heads Will Roll, which is a song that has recently blew up again because of the movie Fresh (possible to be seen on Disney+). It worked in my way as the video reached many views, the bad thing is the quality of my video, which ended up with not getting as many likes and followings as I would expected. (On a side note: the reels are always art related )

What are other artists doing so it works for them?

Of course there is a factor of a blow up, which means that one of the reels they made, made it onto many people’s reels page. It happened because they used the right timing, sound and engaging content. The other reason is the use of a popular technique (when we are talking about art in particular). This technique is not original and repeated, but its still something that is engaging for the audience more, than the other content.
One of those is the technique of squeegie used to create figures out of blobs of paint being spread down the canvas. It is the most recent one, but artists that use this technique have quite a lot of following as its a satisfying technique to watch (even for myself).
