A couple of drawings which I have traced from photographs of my Malevich perspex and card sculptures. It is becoming this interplay of mediums – starting off as the White on White painting by Malevich which I transformed into a 3D sculpture but i have have now taken it back to a two-dimensional state. Plans to create wall drawings from these (again using the architecture of the gallery space) will force it again into this realm of confusion between 2D and 3D.

Extension of previous wall drawing – layers and layers of the same, altered Malevich painting are drawn carelessly on top of one another, spilling onto several walls and the floor. The many layers cause confusion as to where the edges and perspectives meet.

Very quick collaboration between me and Sikander Pervez – we took materials that we use in our individual practices and combined them, the aim being to not think about or force the items we were using in any way. In some aspects the piece has similarities to Modernist painting – specifically Kandinsky. This may be my personal way of viewing things, Sikander may well have a different view on them. We plan to continue these quick experiments.

These are experiments with scale for my wall drawings – a couple of small tests and a large one. This is just to see how scale changes the perspective – does it gain effect or loose effect? I have begun to use Malevich’s White on White painting (like i have for the laser cut pieces) in Google Sketch-Up to alter and destort the basic shapes into a city-like effect. I think the larger ones will be more effective when placed in a better setting – using more corners and gaps for it to confuse the eye.

Experimenting with my perspex pieces on an over-head projector in a dark space. Clear and colour pieces are used to try out a few new things – beginnings of some exciting ideas i have for the OHP and shapes.
