300 WORDS ON MALL GALLERY DYCA SHOW.
The DYCA Exhibition being shown at The Mall Gallery in London is proof if any were needed that contemporary art is alive and well and in very good hands.
Viewing the works of the likes of Dion Salvador Lloyd “Chalkland” is at once enthralling and moving. There is a feeling of the sublime in the execution that puts one in mind of Turner in his more abstract period these works react well with those of Beth Fletcher and her “Study! (Rocks, sand and green sky) that lends its self to the feeling of youth art in motion, a feeling that modern day artist are not all thrown together to make up the numbers in an art world full of things that do not make sense to the average viewer.
Here is a collection both eclectic and magical encompassing the feeling of the sublime and the feeling of freedom including some of today’s finest artist “James Tatum’s “”Camel River Estuary” brings a glow of openness expressing in a limited pallet a talent that expresses the mood of his subject without overpowering the spectator.
Some of the works that make up this moving exhibition defy the conventional and cut through the Avent- Gard taking their position as the modern school of the sublime using this word in its most extravagant sense. Viewing such a breath taking collection can only be likened to taking a journey of discovery that thrill and delights the viewer’s perception of modern day art and artist the high standards on offer are truly remarkable.
