AFTER THE DEGREE PRESENTATION
Don’t think it went very well. Endless agonising over power-point slides and the right words to use. What precisely I am trying to achieve? Made me think I’m still not really pushing myself enough – too shallow and ordinary.
Today I visited Simon Carters studio at Frinton. It helped to discuss this question with him. Urged me to stop thinking too hard and just paint. I enjoyed his wealth of relevant knowledge about contemporary artists and his own working methods.
A refreshing morning – after the intensity of last week. Plan to visit The National Gallery with a new perspective.
