After seeing some collage work, I like the idea of using this to literally personalise foxes rather than representing them or using them as symbolism for something else. But at the same time keeping their stereotype of sneaky or even very British. By this I mean, perhaps a body of a human, dressed in”British ” clothes with a foxes head. This can be draw or painted ( I have already drawn a fox wearing a hat and scarf previously as a personalisation ) or collage I think would be more effective. So I decided to have a little play around with collage At the same time, I am still continuing my drawing of foxes and trying different styles etc .

Another artists blog i styumbled upon i found to use metamorphosis as a contemporary artsist using animals like foxes within his art and also deer, which is orgnally where i started this project last year

I have started to look at contemporary artists that uses foxes to make representations or use them to symbolise. I have briefly looked at RACHEL OWENS , she uses a fox hunt as a metaphor for current situations in the U.S.

After looking at this, i accidentally stumbled across another artist that uses foxes within contemporary art , STEVE BISHOP, his art is installation art, high impact as he uses taxidermy methods, which within contemporary is very popular, this interests me, and i would be very interested in experimenting with installation art.

So far , I have been drawing foxes in a sketchbook in different styles, just experimenting with how to change the character of a fox in order to represent different things, at the same time i have played with watercolour which i have never used before. I really think watercolours are well suited to the fox with ll the different red tones, i can make a painting vibrant and bold , and yet also soft.

with experimenting with drawings of the fox, `i have realised that the main feature appears to be the eyes, ie, it is the eyes that seem to change the character of the fox, through testing this, ive discovered a basic round eye gives a simple peaceful personality, whereas a thinner angled eye gives an angry nasty charater that the fox often represents.

I also realised that exaggerated pointed features add to this usual representation of the fox.
