Through speaking and talking about my work a few people have said to me that my work is sexist I hadn’t really thought of it in this way. I’m just creating a personal response this got me thinking which, in turn led me to look at the definition:

Sexism is prejudice or discrimination based on a person’s sex. Sexist attitudes may stem from traditional stereotypes of gender roles, and may include the belief that a person of one sex is intrinsically superior to a person of the other. A job applicant may face discriminatory hiring practices, or (if hired) receive unequal compensation or treatment compared to that of their opposite-sex peers. Extreme sexism may foster sexual harassment, rape and other forms of sexual violence.

i could try to argue that my work is not sexist or prejudice in anyway. However the fact of the matter is that it is heavily prejudice. It offers my view on women and my view alone. However this is my view from experience. i know that to tar one and all with the same brush is somewhat unfair, however men are branded the same, this doesn’t make it right for me to do it but I’d quite like to put my view across. Men can be snared and trapped and hurt equally as much as women can by men. It is i feel better to recognize that my work is deeply sexist than to try and say otherwise, as this would be foolish.
