Just got back from London!

Had such an awesome trip.

These are a few of the Galleries I went to…

The Tate Modern: Homeworkers

The art works I was most interested in were

Tracey Emin –

Annette Messager –

Other exhibits I found interestng were the sculptures in the Energy & Process gallery.

The Wallace Collection : Glasstress- White Light/White Heat

I went to see as they had a piece of Tracey Emins work on show, ‘Docket’, which i found uninspiring as it was a sculpture of her cat rather than the piece of confessional art i was expecting.

There were however a few other interesting glass pieces including one by Joseph Kosuth, ‘No Numer #19’ which is a text piece and a little more relevant!

The last museum I visited was the Freud Museum.

There was a piece of Emin’s work, ‘Be faithful to your dreams’, which was hung on the staircase in the Mad Bad and Sad Women and the Mind Doctors exhibition.

I also found the rest of the gallery really fascinating and got to look around Freud’s house!

So now im feeling alot more positive about my dissertation and studio work, im really glad i went as its given me an excellent insight into seeing these artists work in person.

I would like to go to the Tate Britain another time to see Tracey Emin and Rachel Whitereads original drawings, i would need to contact the galley in advance to view them privately which is no problem if i ask my course leader to write a letter confirming this is relevant to my degree!
