I mounted my projector on the top part of Ians space today using a stand made from MDF which I measured, constructed and painted black to match Ians wall. I am a little concerned that the image is very feint but i feel that you can still see the image clear enough and that this kind of works because it looks faded, in the same way memories become faded over time.

I also wired up the mac mini via a DVI to VGA cable and used cable hooks to make the wires look tidier on the wall. It sits on a small shelf which I painted white to match the wall and it is fairly high up so that people will not knock their head. The short throw projector is the perfect size for this space which I am very pleased about.

The video runs really well which I am happy with. It works really well next to the keys and I like that it is on a loop because to me this represents how after memory loss you tend to repeat yourself and forget what you have told who. I have called the piece “Forgetting to remember”.

I am excited to see everyones work finished and luckily Sian and Kayleigh are now all finished and i am excited that I am in a space with them becasue I feel that the pieces interact together really well. Sian uses text as do i with my projection, and Kayleigh’s is an installation as is the key piece. I think the pieces work really well together.
