John Stezaker is another influence, more so for the composition of his work. Its as if for him nothing is out of bounds. i porduced a series of work in the inspired by him that i had a lot of fun doing beauase there was no bounds. There is an extremely fun element to Stezakers work which is why i am so attracted to it, its very quirky and decieving, two elements that i hope my work posses (fun and quirky, not decieving).

Ever since i can remember i have always had a fascination with photographs, especially ones from a long time ago, i used have my eye on one and just stare at it for like a week, with so many questions going through my mind like who are they, were they loved, did they get married, when did they die, did they die alone. and sometimes i even remember thinking that is i looked long enough the photo would take me to its present. Even now i am the same and go around my granparent house and take a picture or two because i just cant be apart from it.

This is why i use a lot of old pictures in my work. i think that it makes my work much stronger, and is the basis of its appeal, also that when people view my work they can also wonder about the people in the photographs.i think it has a magic quality to it.

These images at the side are just a few of the photogrpah that i have kept in fascination, these one depict members of my family including me. The fact that thet are all dated brings a certain quality to my work that i prefer to say modern pictures. they have more of a home quality, or a lived in quality. There are so many emotions that can come with just a picture, one main one from me is a mixtre os sadness and happiness, looking back at an ols family picture thinking, where has the time gone, i want to go back, where they the same back then, do they widh they could go back.

My work is to portray the belief of love and pain. A love and pain that deals with family relationships and their dysfunctions. My work is a personal journey and more importantly a way to express myself. I like many others find it hard to tell those who are important to me certain things. i want to expose the truth.

I evaluate my own relationships and events that are most prominent to be throughout my life.

My work began messing around with found paper and images and all of a sudden progressed into pieces of work. From these two examples of work. you can see i have incorporated images of my family with busy brushstrokes and with messy colours and patterns, much like Rauschenberg. These two pieces are some of my early works that have started me off in my project i have i have been progressing from them.
