Mellissa herself will host the tour discussing her practice and walking you around the show.
Having long explored the relationships between nature, science and the human body in her work, Sense of Symptoms is Monsoon’s deepest dive yet into how the lived experience of an illness can be creatively communicated to others.
Through illustration, printmaking and sculpture Monsoon visualises how she and others experience living with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH). In the exhibition you are invited to position your ear next to the artwork to hear sounds of tinnitus, sounds that soothe tinnitus, including under-water recordings, and responses from the IIH UK community.
