Over the past few days I have been installing work to become part of The Textile Crafts 2010 exhibition! Everybody has been working hard to produce a wide variety of work for the show and I cannot wait to see […]
After a day in bed with food poisoning, I am going to have to struggle into the studio today to make up for lost time. And I’ve also missed most of the FuturEverything events which are all over Manchester this […]
On the 3rd of May I started a marathon of painting. The time and place is just right for it. I always feel like aggressive painting in the spring, especially here in England. The winter leaves me, leaves everyone and […]
When I started my study of printmaking at CCA early sept of 2009 I had the assumption that my long experience of drawing and draughtsmanship would be a fast vehicle for producing significant prints. Up to the day (12/5/10) however […]
I’ve been thinking about Jon Bowen’s letter in a-n magazine. And sitting on this for days. Making money is not sufficient cause for making art. All materials are equal. A cardboard box can equal a tube of paint. Art is […]
a week is a long time when considered as seconds. the exhibition has been open for a week now, many seconds for my thoughts. many seconds to reflect. i have done more than just think about this exhibition, and that […]
I’m sure I’ve said on here (and if i haven’t it’s been playing on my mind) that I want my works to be more visually refined than they have been. I’m not pleased with my crude use of gaffer tape […]
Off shortly to gather more ideas and texts from the children at the playground – this is the last planned session at Charlie Chaplin’s, after this its a case of planning where the texts are going to go on the […]

Sue Campbell’s collage was full to bursting with pieces falling out of the envelope as I opened it & the glue still tacky. In contrast Jacs Collins’ work was economical, unmounted and held together with delicate stitching. I photographed back […]
PARALLEL WORLD I’ve been getting some more prints ready for framing today. At the same time, and for a different purpose, I’ve been reading with interest the publication The Urpflanze which is accompanying the exhibition of the same name at […]
I’ve finally started to get going again – at the worst time! Exams have begun and i’m so busy at the school, but the Easter holiday ignited my making flame, and i’ve started being alot more creative. Alongside some image […]
First outing for new/old Super 8 cam on Fleetwood seafront tomorrow. Taking 35mm camera also – add to collection of archive photographs, possibly for display in a gallery context. Both sets of work will be empty, sparse in their content, […]
Both pieces made by Jude Willerton are mounted on black. She says in her accompanying note “The first attempt was very random & spontaneous with no real plan… The second (The crow) came together easily & spontaneously.” Whenever I see […]
