Edinburgh’s Ingleby Gallery is hosting a series of fifteen-minute artists’ essays, to be broadcast as part of the BBC Radio 3 series ‘The Essay’.

Presented as part of Edinburgh Art Festival and recorded before a live audience, the artists, who are either based or born in Scotland, will each talk about what inspires them to create their work.

The recordings will take place over four days, starting with the Scottish-born, London-based artist Ruth Ewan at 11am, Wednesday 29 August, and concluding on Saturday 1 September with Glasgow-based artist Andrew Miller, who designed and built this year’s Edinburgh Art Festival Pavillion. The events are all free but ticketed.
