Manchester’s Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art (CFCCA), formerly known as the Chinese Arts Centre, has appointed a new director. Zoe Dunbar joins the organisation from Imperial War Museum North, where she is head of exhibitions.

Dunbar will take up her new role in December, replacing the centre’s interim director Sarah Fisher.

Speaking about her new position, she said: “The ‘Chinese Century’ is such a dynamic and exciting time to be joining CFCCA and provides a unique platform to explore the vibrant force that is Chinese contemporary art and visual culture.

“I am extremely excited about leading such a prestigious and well respected organisation at this very special time in its 28-year history.”

The CFCCA presents the work of contemporary artists working in China and East Asia and is currently hosting the multi-venue, citywide Harmonious Society exhibition, which forms part of the Asia Triennial Manchester 2014 festival and continues until 23 November.
