This exhibition features the work of key photorealist artists from the 1960s to the present day. Including paintings by John Salt and Ben Johnson, the show explores the questions and debates raised by the movement, such as what makes an authentic image and how we perceive the world around us.

All-in-One, BALTIC, Gateshead
German artist Thomas Bayrle was a pioneer of Pop, seriality and Media Art and his work has featured at Documenta, Kassel on three occasions (1964, 1977 and 2012). This exhibition, organised by WIELS Contemporary Art Centre, Brussels, spans the artist’s entire 50-year career, from his first painted kinetic machines to his most recent engine installations.

Albert Adams, Gallery Oldham, Oldham
South African artist Albert Adams’ work explored the trauma of Apartheid and also broader issues of abuse of power, justice and personal expression through art. This show of work by Adams, who died in 2006, features paintings, drawings and prints, plus Indian embroidered textiles and wood carvings from Sierra Leone and Nigeria.
