Extensive report providing an overview of the social and economic impacts of culture, the arts and sport, based on robust national and international research evidence. With a short and readable executive summary, it notes there is no common or systematic approach to evaluation of initiatives or programmes, rendering it impossible to compare and contrast findings. However it creates a much needed and coherent social research evidence base, which was used to inform Scottish policy development. It also highlights gaps in evidence at the time of writing.
