Affordable workspace has become a key issue in London, putting particular pressure on artists. This study presents an audit of studio space in London and reports that as many as 3500 artists are likely to lose their places of work by 2019 – 30% of the current provision. It also presents other key stats regarding artists in London. Discusses tactical interventions including planning protection, direct investment in under-occupied buildings and creative uses of city-owned properties. Finishes with recommendations.
