Led by CAPEUK and commissioned by ACE, and taking a broad view of museums to include contemporary art, report addresses four questions:
1. What formal learning is currently delivered by museums?
2. How do museums and schools assess the quality?
3. How is formal learning developed, delivered and resourced by museums?
4. What are the barriers and enablers of delivering and sustaining a quality formal learning offer?

The Executive Summary gives a useful statistical and narrative overview, noting that primary schools make by far the most visits to museums, that 50% of museums have moved provision towards income generation models, and that the most significant enabler is alignment with the national curriculum.
