Last chance to visit the First World War Centenary exhibition My Subject is War a display of animation and drawing by illustrator and artist Emma Brown. The moving image work ‘Go! It’s Your Duty Lad’ follows the tale of a fictional young man from Warrington inspired by real life stories lifted from the pages of the Warrington Guardian and the archives of Warrington Museum & Art Gallery. The work celebrates the stories of ordinary people, soldiers and civilians and gives a nod to the Red Cross hospitals that operated within the town and the industrial contributions made by factories such as Rylands and Whitecross.

The exhibition is part of ‘My Subject is War’, a multi-disciplinary arts project commissioned by Culture Warrington for the Centenary of the First World War. The project is supported by public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
