With degree shows season now in full swing, this week’s selection from the a-n degree shows online listings includes shows in Plymouth, Manchester, Northampton, Belfast, Canterbury, Leeds, Bristol, Wolverhampton and Loughborough.

As part of our What Makes A Great Degree Show? feature in this year’s Degree Shows Guide, Steven Paige, senior lecturer and course leader, BA fine art at Plymouth College of Art, had these words of advice: “The work should not attempt to be a complete answer, how can it be? The show should be pointing, or at least leaning towards, what we should be paying attention to next.”

Magnus Quaife, senior lecturer and programme leader of undergraduate fine art at Manchester School of Art, Manchester Metropolitan University commented: “It is important to get a sense that the students’ own ideas and vision are central to the work and not just mirrors of their tutors’ thinking.”

With 20 universities to choose from in our selection, there are plenty of opportunities this week to discover new voices and ideas.
