Aleph Contemporary

Aleph Contemporary’s latest group exhibition is inspired by Paul Klee’s epitaph which reads: “slightly closer to the heart of creation than usual. But not nearly close enough.” For the show, titled “A Little Closer” Dr Andrew Hewish BEM brings together a group of artists whose paintings and sculptures demonstrate the vitality of contemporary practice.

Held at The Bindery, Farringdon’s stylish newly refurbished bookbindery, the exhibition presents a showcase of fresh new works that are infused with visual invention, a sense of the importance of human action and creation, and a delight in being close to that which is felt on the edge of seeing.

Artists:
Lewis Baxter, Phil Goss, Alex Gough, Charlotte Winifred Guérard Tommaso Gorla, Whitney Jade Halsted, Diane Howse, Andrew Hewish, Phil King, Sharon Leahy-Clark, Sarah Lederman, Lindsay Mapes, Rosie McGoldrick, Holly Mills, Laurence Noga, Katie Trick, Jaime Valtierra, Anna van Oosterom, Virgina Verran, Eugenie Vronskaya, Henry Ward, Laura White and Mark Wright.

Each artist is the recipient of numerous awards and honours.

You can read the accompanying text by Andrew Hewish online with a list of works and prices.
