ENGAGE! with Art & South Hill Park Arts Centre

Appealing to young and old; inspiring and thought provoking; we’ll guide you along a trail of sculptures and art installations. You will encounter free hands-on workshops, demonstrations and displays of contemporary artworks by over 30 artists from Bracknell, Crowthorne, Ascot and Reading, as well as London, Birmingham and beyond.

The artworks will challenge the imagination, make use of a surprising range of materials and involve parts of the building, the trees and terraces as integral parts of the artwork.

An installation on the terrace grass, visible from the Mansion windows, will reference the building’s history during WWII, whilst textile works and recycled materials will be woven through architectural columns and parkland trees. Why not take an ‘art’ dog for a walk, or get involved in creating an enchanted butterfly garden or woodland fairies.

We’ll entice walkers, cafe users, teens and families to join in the art making activities with a variety of free workshops throughout the weekend by regional artists including printmaking, ceramics, drawing, painting and more.

We aim to ENGAGE! the visual senses, reinforcing the value and importance of making a place for art and artists in our community.

ENGAGE! with Art at South Hill Park is made possible through the generous support of South Hill Park Arts Trust Ltd., an Arts Council England Grant for the Arts Award, and a small team of Berkshire based artist volunteers.
