Working collaboratively, tenthirtyart respond to a site or space in a way that reflects our individual practice and our common interest in creating a cohesive site-specific installation.
The Rag Factory has enabled us to engage with the rich cultural history of Brick Lane. The Huguenot refugees, weavers and artisans, created the beginning of an ever evolving neighbourhood that reflects the migration of people fleeing persecution.
The record of migration paths, pattern making, memory and trace, the domestic, post-colonialism and identity, inform our endeavours. The language of fabric and textiles is closely woven into the narrative of life.
Fabric, as metaphor, inspired this show.
