HAME. An impressionistic journey through Dumfries & Galloway voiced by those who call it home.

Join us from 7pm on Saturday 2nd May for the launch of HAME, a film and sound installation by artists Mark Lyken and Emma Dove, specially commissioned to celebrate the opening of The Stove at 100 High St, DG1 2BJ.

Lyken and Dove have been artists-in-residence with Dumfries-based public art organisation The Stove Network for 6 months, researching people’s movements to and from Dumfries & Galloway. Using a Black Cab as a mobile studio they have travelled around the region and beyond, interviewing people about their relationships to D&G and filming the valued and significant places that have arisen in conversation.

HAME will extend over 2 floors and out into the High Street with film, voice, field recording and subtle music interacting in different ways depending on movement through the varying spaces of the installation.
