Crying Out Loud II – Ladies’ Room
Catherine Anyango and Julie Hill continue their artistic collaboration with an event that uses an Edwardian cloakroom as the starting point for the staging of a series of artworks, performances and installations that explore particular feminine experiences this environment represents within popular culture and history. Anyango reflects on the practice of abortion during Edwardian times while Hill considers how the ladies room has been used in popular culture – particularly the horror genre – to convey the feminine psychological and psychic experience.

His daughter, Jenny Benton, presents large-scale wall-based collages of jungle foliage.
