People Eating
Over the last 20 years, Chris Duffy has collected and curated found photographs of people eating. Having transformed part of his home (the Auchtermuchty Food Museum) into a dedicated library on the subject, this exhibition is the start of a long-term project to share his research into 100 years of people’s relationship to food. The exhibition will be accompanied by food-related events and talks.
2-10 April 2016, Off The Rails Arthouse, Ladybank Station House, Fife.

Fields and Gardens
Andy Black has created his own index of drawings. Reminiscent of a museological archive, a CAD image library or a Richard Scarry children’s book, these black and white forms, from hexagons to shrubs, suggest a series of archaic carved objects. At BayArt, Black will assemble these drawings to create a large-scale installation where forms from this visual alphabet are cultivated into neat spaces or allowed to overgrow the fields and gardens that they depict.
Until 22 April 2016, BayArt, 54 b/c Bute Street, Cardiff.

Nonarchy
Nine artists from the Brecon Beacons bring a post-punk ethos to a former JJB Sports store and erstwhile hotel associated with the temperance movement. The artists use film, installation and intervention alongside more traditional media to respond to the qualities and history of this high street space.
Until 30 April 2016, Undergun, 11 Regent Street, Wrexham.

Structure
A contemporary textile exhibition from the collective ‘eleven’. An exploration of the boundaries of traditional textile technique, the concept of structure is a starting point for an artistic dialogue on textiles as an art form. Here, structure is explored as a physiological, psychological and environmental notion.
7 April – 29 May 2016, neo:gallery27, The Market Place, Bolton.

Paintings as objects
Winner of the PS Mirabel Open, Lisa Denyer presents her abstract paintings at this artist-run gallery. Influenced by modernism and geometric abstraction, Denyer’s use of foreground and background in her tightly balanced squares are a nod to traditional landscape art. Her fluorescent colours, spontaneous brushstrokes and flat monochrome areas are built up over hardboard and plywood, playing with the relationship between the surface and its support.
7 April – 14 May 2016, PS Mirabel, Mirabel Studios, 14/20 Mirabel Street, Manchester.
