A Conversation With My Mother
Mary Branson, the artist behind the large-scale New Dawn light installation in the Houses of Parliament, presents a new temporary installation in Swiss Church, Covent Garden. The work conveys the concept of ‘frozen grief and the power of the subconscious to help process complex emotions’. The artist combines sculpture with soundscapes of interviews with a number of women who have spoken about their own relationships with their mothers.
Friday 23 (artist’s talk, 6pm) & Saturday 24 February 2018, Swiss Church, 79 Endell Street, London WC2H.

Cicatrix

The artist in residence has brought together birdsong from Fort Takapuna Historic Reserve in Auckland with recordings made at the site of the Bulford Kiwi hill figure on Salisbury Plain, which was created by soldiers awaiting repatriation to New Zealand in 1919 following the end of the war.
23 February – 14 April 2018, Town Hall Arts, Trowbridge Town Hall, Wiltshire BA14 8EQ.
