Out of Synch
Coventry-based weaver Theo Wright presents an exhibition of textiles that explore synchronisation and sequencing of design elements. In Wright’s works, which are woven in linen and silk on a 16-shaft dobby loom, colour and pattern sequences are disrupted so that they shift in and out of alignment. The exhibition includes framed works and wall hangings, and the Out of Synch project also extends to handmade scarves, available to order directly from the artist.
12-18 December 2019, Artspace Arcadia Gallery, 32 City Arcade, Coventry, CV1 3HW

Bummock: The Lace Archive
The Bummock is the large part of an iceberg hidden beneath the surface of the sea. In this exhibition at The Constance Howard Gallery in London artists Andrew Bracey, Danica Maier and Lucy Renton have produced new work as a result of a residency that researched unseen and undervalued parts of the Lace Archive, Nottingham. The exhibition also features items from the Goldsmiths Textile Collection, which includes historical and anthropological resources on textiles and dress, and a substantial selection of rare materials on textile and fibre art.
