Semiconductor, Alice Holt Forest, Farnham
Art-science duo Semiconductor – Ruth Jarman and Joe Gerhardt – present a new commission for Jerwood Open Forest. Located at a unique site in the Alice Holt Forest just outside Farnham in Surrey and stemming from the pair’s work with a climate change scientist, the piece reimagines data on the carbon uptake of trees and turns it into a sculptural form.

(Dis) order: A compulsion to collect, The Holden Gallery, Manchester
This exhibition explores the fine line between order and disorder. The four featured artists – Ian Hamilton Finlay, Susan Hiller, Torsten Lauschmann and Allen Ruppersberg – investigate the process of obsessively collecting objects. The results provide an insight into the systems and processes by which we all exist.

The Nakeds, Drawing Room, London
This exhibition maintains the Drawing Room’s reputation for superbly curated group shows. It is jam packed with an array of different mark making, with artists including David Austen, Maria Lassnig, Fiona Banner, Joseph Beuys and Louise Bourgeois amongst others.

Jake and Dinos Chapman: In the Realm of the Unmentionable, Jerwood Gallery, Hastings
The Chapmans return to their home town for a show of spooky eccentricity. The exhibition features well-known pieces from the last decade, along with works that have not previously been on public display, and new works created specifically for the Jerwood Gallery.

Shezad Dawood, Leeds Art Gallery, Leeds
This show by London-based artist Shezad Dawood features a new film, Towards the Possible Film, which was co-commissioned by Film and Video Umbrella and the Delfina Foundation and presents a series of fictional journeys through time and space. Also featured are sculpture, textile paintings and neon pieces by Dawood, alongside works from the Leeds Art Gallery’s own collection.
