Laura Aldridge: California wow!, Tramway, Glasgow
Glasgow-based artist Laura Aldridge fills the cavernous Tramway 2 space with a new, typically tactile installation incorporating sculpture, textiles, print and ceramics. The show includes a number of ‘display-scapes’ through which to engage with the exhibition, including smiling sun mobiles, furry carpets and a large pink room.

Rubens and His Legacy, Royal Academy, London
This exhibition charts the influence of Rubens, bringing together a number of well-known works produced both during his lifetime and by the generations that followed. Includes work by Picasso, Rembrandt, Van Dyck, and Delacroix amongst others.

Isabelle Cornaro, Spike Island, Bristol
French artist Isabelle Cornaro works with painting, sculpture, film and installation to explore the influence of history and culture on our perception of reality. Here she presents a series of specially-commissioned installations that investigate composition, visual perception and interpretation.

Derek Eland: Diary Rooms, mima, Middlesbrough
In 2011, Derek Eland worked as an official war artist embedded with the British Army in Helmand, Afghanistan. Diary Rooms presents a collective self-portrait of the individual experiences of frontline soldiers in Helmand, reiterating the power of the written word to access real emotions and thoughts, particularly in the digital age.

Rights of Nature: Art and Ecology in the Americas, Nottingham Contemporary
A total of 20 artists, including Allora & Calzadilla, Jimmie Durham and Harun Farocki, reflect on the politics and cultural significance of environmental issues across the Americas. Filling all four of Nottingham Contemporary’s galleries, this large-scale show features work that tackles the ecological dramas of areas such as the Amazon, the Andes, the Artic and the Gulf of Mexico.
