Using data from a variety of sources, this report, commissioned by the Freelands Foundation and published in 2016, shows that female artists are significantly under-represented in career-defining activities in Britain. Despite female arts and design graduates outnumbering men, opportunities in terms of representation, solo exhibitions and high profile international shows are predominantly given to male artists.
